Sam Parail

Co-Founder and Wealth Advisor

Sam co-founded Guard Legacy, and is a seasoned financial advisor with over two decades of experience. He's passionate about thoughtfully helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals.

Before starting Guard Legacy, Sam gained valuable experience caring for his clients at J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch. He's also a Certified Exit Planner (CEPA), specializing in helping business owners plan their exits.

Sam's unique background in aviation and his deep connection to the aerospace and precision manufacturing community give him a unique perspective on the financial challenges faced by business owners and professionals. He's also a dedicated athlete and CrossFit L1 coach, always striving for improvement both on and off the field.

Beyond his professional life, Sam is actively involved in his church community, where he serves as a leader and mentor to young people. He's committed to making a positive impact on his community.

When he's not working, Sam enjoys spending time (chauffeuring!) with his active family, cheering on his favorite Formula 1 teams, and exploring new cities and countries.


 

Michael Oskouian

Co-Founder and Wealth Advisor

As a co-founder of Guard Legacy, Michael is a seasoned financial advisor with over three decades of experience. He's passionate about helping individuals and families secure their financial future.

Michael has spent years working with clients across the country, combining his deep understanding of the financial services industry with a commitment to personalized service. His academic and professional credentials, including his MBA, ARM, CRM, and LUTCF designations, reflect his dedication to excellence.

Beyond Michael's professional work, he is deeply rooted in the Kirkland community, where he has lived for over 40 years. He has served as past president of the Rotary Club of Kirkland Downtown, and continues to be actively involved in this community.

At Guard Legacy, Michael is committed to crafting tailored financial strategies that empower clients to achieve their goals with confidence.


 

Emily Edwards

Director of Client Experience

Emily is an accomplished financial professional with a passion for serving her clients. She graduated from Clemson University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Emily began her career in financial services as an intern at a wealth management firm in Seneca, SC, where she discovered her true passion for helping clients navigate their financial goals. This led her to pursue a full-time career in the industry upon graduation. Emily leads the onboarding client experience for Guard Legacy at Fiduciary Alliance.

In 2020, Emily relocated to Greenville, SC, to further her career and expand her opportunities in financial services. She has since become deeply involved in the Upstate community, enjoying everything the area has to offer. 

Outside of work, Emily values spending time with friends and family. She enjoys expressing her creativity through arts and crafts and loves spending time outside running or hiking on the weekends. Emily actively contributes to the Greenville community by serving at Grace Church and Sterling School.


 

Shelby Flynn

Client Experience Associate

Born and raised in Greenville, SC, Shelby brings over six years of experience in marketing and event management, with a particular passion for corporate events. A proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, Shelby earned a degree in Hospitality Management and Administration, where she discovered her love for connecting people and creating memorable experiences. Shelby supports Guard Legacy by using her gifting in supporting the client experience at Fiduciary Alliance. Outside of work, Shelby is all about bringing friends and family together for a good time, whether it's around a table at the latest restaurant, in the kitchen trying a new recipe, or at a live show. She’s always exploring new ways to make every moment feel a little more special.


 

Victoria Latham

Compliance Officer

Victoria graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013 with a Double Major in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and Criminal Justice. Since then, she has cultivated a diverse professional background, including roles as an Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Specialist, a Police Officer, and a Product Quality Analyst at Allianz Partners, where she ensured compliance with insurance policies across Travel, Event, and Tuition sectors. In 2022, she further enhanced her expertise by earning an MBA from Clemson University.

Joining The Fiduciary Alliance in March 2019 as a Client Service Manager, Victoria now serves as the Director of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer. In this capacity, she plays a pivotal role in supporting Guard Legacy as a member of Fiduciary Alliance, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to regulatory standards. Her leadership strengthens the firm's ability to deliver consistent, client-centered solutions while upholding its commitment to excellence.
